A child starts in the Pre-Prep in the September after his or her fourth birthday and?they are taught primarily by their form teacher.
The lively curriculum has a strong emphasis on literacy and numeracy, and includes religious studies, science, history, geography, French (from Reception), ICT (Information and Communication Technology), PE (Physical Education), dance, drama, music, art and craft.?French, religious studies, dance and music are taught by specialist teachers. Music, drama and ballet, outings to places of interest, talks from visiting speakers and participation in the sacramental and prayer life of the school, are all integral to your child's development in the Pre-Prep.
The Theatre, sports hall and stunning grounds are used for drama, gymnastics and games, the indoor pool for swimming, the Music School for individual tuition of instruments, and the Prep School dining hall for delicious, homemade,?hot lunches. The children?are happy, stimulated and consequently eager to learn.
Children arrive between 8.15am and 8.45am. During this half hour, they?go to their classrooms where they take part in activities and, individually, read to their class teacher.
The school day ends at 3.30pm, although there is Late?Club and activities for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, which end at 4.45pm, and Twilight Club from 4.45pm to 5.45pm, which includes a light supper.
